Skip to content The Red Squirrel Children’s Nursery at Glendoick is located in the beautiful Perthshire countryside within the walls of a 19th-century building.
Our 2-5 age group are in the main old school building with an art/dining room and access to a secure outdoor garden space. Our 0-2 age group benefits from a purpose-built annex with a separate sleep room and secure garden.
The nursery embraces its surroundings, offering children an endless list of experiences within our gardens and the surrounding forests and farmlands.
Monday to Friday from 8am until 6 pm, 51 weeks of the year.

We have a well-established and effective key worker approach ensuring we respond responsively to the individual needs of every child to support their wellbeing.
All of our dishes are prepared onsite by our Qualified Chef using fresh seasonal ingredients. Meals include a morning snack, two-course lunch and high tea in the afternoon
We strongly believe in the benefits of outdoor learning and allow children to experience the wonder of nature while learning in an exciting, inspirational and rewarding environment. All our children from our baby room up to our preschool can utilise and benefit from the vast learning opportunities that our Forest School camp has to offer.
We recognise that play is an essential aspect of children’s learning and development and aim to provide a safe and secure, but challenging learning environment that is stimulating and encourages investigation and curiosity.

Our Forest Camp is located within an established woodland just outside the nursery grounds. The camp has been thoughtfully designed to ensure the children have everything required for a full day of care and learning in the outdoors. There are sheltered dining areas, toilets, hand washing facilities, and covered areas for quieter times throughout the day.
Children engage in exploring and investigating their natural surroundings – climbing trees, making dens, creating art out of natural resources – so many opportunities! There are mud kitchens for making dragon soup, log piles for scouring for bugs, sheltered spots for storytelling, large sand pits, natural timber climbing areas and mud slides – as you can imagine the list is endless!
Our team attends outdoor and nature-based training programs to provide children with opportunities to develop their confidence and skills through tool use, den building, and fire lighting.
